Take me out to the ball game

Said I to my father

The Checkered grass

The crack of bat

The roar of crowd

As someone loosed a mighty cat

A patter of rain will not dissuade

An opening day parade.

Take me out to the ball game

Said I to my son

An aged glove

The memory fades

A crackerjack

To briefly lift the foggy haze

The organ leads a charging call

Then back to earth we fall
