Lighted Fountains At Dusk
April 26, 2019

Murphy and I spent the evening with a photographer friend, looking for light along the riverside parks in Cincinnati. This image, entitled Lighted Fountains at Dusk, feels sophisticated. Visions of black ties, evening gowns, and champagne pass through my imagination. A wisp of Bix Beiderbecke, or Benny Goodman hang in the air. Well heeled passengers queue up to board a finely appointed Pullman rail car at Union Terminal for destinations unknown. I...

Early February Warmup
February 3, 2019

Riding the jet stream is a popular pastime here in the Greater Cincinnati area. No, I'm not talking about an airliner or high powered mobile home. Slight changes in this atmospheric anomaly can cause rapid fluctuations in the weather here, bringing us an Early February Warmup. One day it's a high of 3 degrees Fahrenheit, the next it is in the 60's. This meteorological whiplash is not unfamiliar to residents of the area, but can reek havoc on the...

Cold Water Morning Fog
January 31, 2019

Though no one lit the railroad tracks on fire in the Queen City, I did see Cold Water Morning Fog on the river. At -2 degrees Fahrenheit, Murphy and I had little time for frivolity. A couple quick snaps and ice nuggets are all we could muster. No Fauntleroy sightings to report I'm afraid, nor was there time to inquire. With that, we hope you are staying warm and cozy on this brilliant and blustery day. Kind regards from The Murphy-Cam...

Land Beneath The Bridge
January 24, 2019

Another image from our pilgrimage, this hearty sprig in winter’s blanket adds a pop of color to the bleak landscape. Dressed in a coat of green, Murphy,  prances gaily through the drifting snow, and is once again disappointed by the absence of his friend. When last they met, Fauntleroy, bedecked in crimson housecoat and slippers, surveyed his wondrous home in the Land Beneath the Bridge. No Billy Goats here. It is a pleasant place, if a bit noisy,...

Murphy-Cam Gives Back
December 19, 2018

The Murphy-Cam Project is photographic and spiritual journey of man and dog along the river in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Through this journey we found a call to help the homeless neighbors we met during our trek. The latest book entitled “Year of the Flood”, captures the haunting beauty of the 2018 flood, while celebrating the resiliency of a historic river town through the many festivals along mighty Ohio. It makes a wonderful coffee...
